Dronino Meteorite – Complete Individual
Dronino Meteorite – Complete Individual
Iron, Ataxite
Ryazon District, Russia
Discovered by a Russian mushroom hunter in July of 2002, Dronino is a rare type of iron-nickel meteorite which does not exhibit a Widmanstatten pattern when etched, due to the high nickel content. Ataxites are known as ungrouped irons as they do not match the chemistry of any of the other iron-nickel groups and most certainly come from a different planetary body than the other irons. Offered is a superb, large Dronino specimen. Offered on a custom metal stand. Weighing 3458 grams; Measuring 7 ¼ x 5 ½ x 2in
