"Vermilion Route." Pass no. 184, issued for 1890 to TC Platt, president of the United States Express Company. Signed by vice president Carpenter. Reverse has some adhesive residue. Nice looking pass with a vignette of train moving through the mountains. Black and red print on cardstock. Rand McNally & Co. Hauled iron ore and taconite from the mines of northern Minnesota's Mesabi and Vermilion Iron Ranges to docks on Lake Superior at Duluth and Two Harbors.
