Dutch so-called "Rankencase" - Baroque - Walnut - 18th / early 19th century

Masterfully crafted vine cabinet. Beautiful walnut. Beautiful patina. On the panels of the doors and the sides inlaid in the contour lines of a bombé cabinet. Deeply carved rich vines twigs of some which even stick out freely. With bunches of grapes, oak leaves, daisies and anemones and even 2 corn cobs. Very clever and professionally carved. A true masterpiece. Very heavy doors - the outside is 8 cm thick. Original large ball feet. Inside shelves made later. The back has been partly renewed and the hind legs are replaced with very sturdy legs. The doors turn on "hinges", flat forged brass plates with a hole and a pin. This is the old original type of hinge that was already made in the 17th century. Considering the fittings, latches (photo) and hinges, this cabinet is 18th century, or early 19th century. The lock is original and so is the key. Low, well fitting size. Height 198 cm The hood can be taken off, the doors and the sides can be detached from the base unit. That's how it will be transported.
