TLS as president, one page, 5.25 x 7.25, White House letterhead, April 30, 1954. Letter to Max G. Goldberg, in full: "Thank you very much for sending me another set of golf club wood head covers, to include a matching one for my number 5. I know that Ed Dudley will appreciate your kind thought of him, too. I suggest you mail his set to the Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia. I am grateful to your friend, Mr. Steven Kowaleski, for delivering your gift to the White House." Includes an ALS by Augusta National Golf Club head pro Ed Dudley, in part: "I received the headcover & the nice note…glad you took care of the chief." Matted and framed together with an image of Eisenhower on the links to an overall size of 20.5 x 20.25. In fine condition. Eisenhower enjoyed a passion for golf, joining the Augusta National Golf Club upon his return from Europe and installing a putting green on the White House lawn during his presidency. An avid golfer both during and after his administration, Eisenhower was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2009.
