Date: c. 1880

Description: Sketchy costume study with a young man dressed as a nobleman of the early 17th century. After a painting by Tyge Kruse. The drawing is from a collection of history and saga depictions with Nordic scenes and themes from the hand of the Danish artist Rondahl, who made a name for himself particularly as a draughtsman. He provided the designs for numerous historical, archaeological and literary writings.
