EARLY COLT FAT GRIP MODEL 1878 DOUBLE ACTION

SERIAL 4379. BARREL 4 3/4" CALIBER .45 LONG COLT. MADE IN 1880. Early features include the so called larger "fat grip" and the barrel is not stamped with a caliber, instead it is found in the front trigger bow only. It features a nickel finish with Colt gutta percha grips and lanyard ring . The barrel has one line address so it has been shortened. Gun retains about 70% of the re-applied nickel finish. Grips are excellent and quite rare. Action needs some work. Bore is sharp. Light crack in stocks. Antique
