EARLY COMPOSITE HAND AND A HALF CLAMSHELL GUARD SWORD
Straight double edge unfullered blade with an engraved running fox on both sides, and the right side with a partially visible marking of maker "ANDREA FERARA". The S-shaped crossguard has a large clamshell guard on the right side and a small loop counterguard on the other. Wooden grip is wrapped with brown leather. CONDITION: Blade retains a pitted grey surface. Hilt retains a matching patina and surface. The pommel is probably a replacement. Guard is slightly loose. Grip probably replaced and rewrapped.
