EGYPTIAN CANOPIC JAR LID

Description: Egyptian limestone canopic jar lid with the human head of Imsety, son of Horus. Very fine example beautifully carved. He is wearing a tripartite wig, leaving the ears exposed, and has a short beard. The eyes and eyebrows are executed in fine relief.Much of the original polychromy is preserved. The short beard and the wig are outlined in light blue, the eyes and eyebrows outlined in black. The irises of the eyes are marked in red. The face and ears are painted yellow. It includes Art Loss Register certificate.| Egypt. Middle Kingdom, 1980-1760 B.C

Condition: Small chips and surface wear with polychromy losses but very fine condition. Notes: The piece includes authenticity certificate. For reasons of data protection, when the provenance of the pieces is private collections, only the initials of the particular collectors are shown, the complete information of these collections will be delivered to the buyer in the authenticity certificate. |The piece includes Spanish Export License ( Passport for European Union) - If the piece is destined outside the European Union a substitution of the export permit should be requested and an export fee must be paid ( see terms and conditions ).
