Late to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC.
A Egyptian amulet of a crowned horus with the body of a Cicada. The amulet is made out of jade and is perforated on the back. The fly amulet, known as the "Tyet" or "Knot of Isis, " was one of the many types of protective amulets used by the ancient Egyptians. It is often depicted as a stylised knot, resembling the shape of a fly or butterfly.
