New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, Ca. 1481 - 1425 BC .
An Egyptian square glazed steatite seal inscribed with four hieroglyphic sides and a cartouche of Tuthmosis III. The seal has a vertical hole running through the centre. This is a very rare item as it was produced in stone and then glazed. As it has the pharaoh's name on it, this means that it most likely belonged to someone who worked at the palace or for the imperial chancellery. For similar see: MET Museum Accession Number: 20.1.18.
