EGYPTIAN NEW KINGDOM COBALT BLUE PAINTED JAR DEPICTING A FISH

New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC.
A stunning Egyptian New Kingdom jar, possibly from the Amarna period. The jar is painted with cobalt blue and has a globular body, decorated on the shoulders with a fish from the Nile river. Plants surround the design in the main register. The jar has a narrow neck, adorned with lotiform and geometrical decorations made in blue and red and connected to short, everted rim.
