Egyptian Revival mahogany secretaire a abbatant, late 19th century, having a shaped and stepped rectangular top over a frieze drawer above a fall front desk opening to a fitted compartment, the desk flanked by caryatids having gilt metal Egyptian heads rising on tapering brass string inlaid stiles and terminating to metal feet surmounting, two doors, the whole rising on tapering legs, apparently unmarked.
Approximate dimensions: h. 58", w. 43.5", d. 19.5".
Condition Report: Each side having an age crack, string inlay is lifting in some areas, minor scattered chips to veneer, water damage and chips to lower left door, wear to gold finish on caryatids.
