EKCO Hostess Carousel Heated Food Server with Ceramic Liner and Lid
This lot comprises a single EKCO Hostess Carousel electric food warmer, manufactured by E.K. Cole Ltd in Great Britain. The unit is a rotating "lazy Susan" style heated server featuring a dark brown molded plastic base decorated with a tan geometric band of interlocking circles and squares. The interior houses an electric heating element with four metal support arms radiating from a central hub. It is equipped with a removable four-quadrant ceramic serving dish finished in a mottled brown Rockingham-style drip glaze. A translucent smoked brown plastic lid with a tiered concentric ring design and a central handle completes the set. The handle features a circular label with a brown background, an orange block-letter mark reading EKCO, and the model name Hostess Carousel in gold cursive script. The base is fitted with a recessed three-pin power inlet and includes a separate black power cable with a white UK 13A domestic plug.
More Information
The translucent plastic lid shows significant surface scratching and scuffing throughout, with several small white paint-like splatters visible along the outer rim (photo 1). The decorative geometric band on the dark brown base exhibits visible wear and loss to the screen printing (photo 5). The internal metal heating element supports show areas of white oxidation or residue (photo 6). The ceramic liner appears to be in good condition with no visible chips or cracks. The internal wiring and heating functionality have not been tested (photo 3).
