ELIADE MIRCEA: (1907-1986) Romanian historian of religion, fiction writer, and philosopher. Eliade sends his correspondent a copy of his Acceptance Speech for the Academy (no longer present) and continues ´Je viens de recevoir votre texte – qui me fait rougir du mien! Je vous remercie bien sincèrement. Je vais vous envoyer ma réponse en quelques jours´ (Translation: ´I have just received your text – which makes me blush when I look at my own! Thank you most sincerely. I shall send you my reply in a few days´). Together with a second A.L.S., Mircea Eliade, one page, 4to, Paris, 2nd March 1977, to a colleague, in French. Eliade informs his correspondent that as soon as he arrived in Paris he caught flu, but is now slowly returning to normal life, continuing ´Je voudrais vous dire combien nous avons été touchés, ma femme et moi, par la chalereuse réception de notre Académie…J´espère revenir un jour à Bruxelles, mais détendu et sans température!´ (Translation: ´I would like to tell you how deeply moved my wife and I were by the warm welcome from our Academy…I hope to return one day to Brussels, but feeling relaxed and without a fever!´).
