EMILE-LOIS PICAULT (FRENCH, 1833-15), BRONZE SCULPTURE, H 20", WARRIOR DRAWING SWORD Has the detail, patina, and indication of a lifetime cast. Crisply impressed signature on base: E. Picault. With marble base 21.5". Dark brown patina. Marble base c. 1900-1915.
Condition Report: There is 1/8" indentation (scratch) and patina loss on right elbow. No losses or damage. Fine indications of decades of dust in areas where the subject's feet meet base. No visible foundry marks. Marble base consistent with age. One very slight age crack and very old small chip on area beneath subject's left foot. (see hi res photo on www.dumoart.com)
