Emilio Tadini war ein italienischer Maler, Schriftsteller, Dichter, Dramatiker, Übersetzer und Journalist sowie von 1997 bis 2000 Präsident der Brera-Akademie der Schönen Künste. An der Mailänder Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore machte Tadini einen Abschluss in Literaturwissenschaft. Bereits im Alter von 20 Jahren war er 1947 in Elio Vittorinis Zeitschrift Il Politecnico tätig gewesen, wo er "La passione secondo Matteo" (Die Passion nach Matthäus) veröffentlichte, womit er den Serra-Preis gewann. Danach veröffentlichte er Essays, Romane, Gedichte und Monologe. Unter seinen Schriften gewann "La lunga notte" 1987 den Premio Campiello. Mit "La tempesta" eerrang er den Premio Nazionale Rhegium Julii und den Bergamo-Preis. Das Stbedeutende Werke des 20. Jahrhunderts, von Stendhal, Pound, Eliot, Céline oder Faulkner für Verlage wie Einaudi und viele andere. In den sechziger Jahren stellte er seine ersten bildenerischen Werke aus. Seine erste Ausstellung fand in Venedig in der Galleria del Cavallino statt; sein erster Sammler war der Künstler Tancredi. In den Jahren 1978 und 1982 wurde Tadnini zur Biennale in Venedig eingeladen. Sein bildnerisches Werk entwickelte sich in mehreren Zyklen. Tadini ließ sich von der englischen Pop Art, von der Malerei De Chiricos und Picassos beeinflussen und entwickelte eine raffinierte, originelle, traumhafte Bildsprache. 1992 begann er für den Corriere della Sera über Kunst und Literatur zu schreiben. 1997 war er Autor und Moderator der Sendung Contesto auf Tele+. Von 2000 bis 2001 arbeitete er mit dem Schweizer Sender RSI Cultural, aber auch mit Rai zusammen. Er wurde Direktor des Bagutta-Preises und Mitglied der Jury des IX. Italo-Calvino-Preises 1996. 2001 fand seine letzte Retrospektive in Mailand im Palazzo Reale statt. Nach Tadinis Tod organisierte die Stiftung Corriere della Sera 2004 im Palazzo Reale in Mailand die Gedenk-Konferenz „Le figure, le cose“ mit Persönlichkeiten aus Kultur, Kunst und Journalismus wie Ferruccio de Bortoli, Umberto Eco, Paolo Fabbri, Zu seinem Tadinis Gedenken wurde 2008 ein Museum in Mailand, Spazio Tadini, gegründet.

Emilio Tadini was an Italian painter, writer, poet, playwright, translator and journalist, and president of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts from 1997 to 2000. Tadini earned a degree in literature at Milan's Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. In 1947, at the age of 20, he had already worked in Elio Vittorini's magazine Il Politecnico, where he published "La passione secondo Matteo" (The Passion according to Matthew), which won him the Serra Prize. He then published essays, novels, poems and monologues. Among his writings, "La lunga notte" won the Premio Campiello in 1987. With "La tempesta", he won the Premio Nazionale Rhegium Julii and the Bergamo Prize. In 1992 he began writing about art and literature for Corriere della Sera. In 1997 he was the author and presenter of the show Contesto on Tele+. From 2000 to 2001 he worked with the Swiss broadcaster RSI Cultural, but also with Rai. He became director of the Bagutta Prize and a member of the jury of the IX. Italo Calvino Prize in 1996. In 2001 his last retrospective took place in Milan at the Palazzo Reale. After Tadini's death, the Corriere della Sera Foundation organized the memorial conference "Le figure, le cose" in 2004 at the Palazzo Reale in Milan with personalities from culture, art and journalism such as Ferruccio de Bortoli, Umberto Eco, Paolo Fabbri. Tadini was commemorated in his memory A museum in Milan, Spazio Tadini, founded in 2008.
