Executed in 1942.

Condition Report:
The panel is starting has warped, with a few, slight, horizontal cracks appearing. For A Red, Red Rose, The surface has been worked in places, in keeping with the Artist's intention. There are some scuffs visible across the work. There are scratches in the upper right quadrant, with further more minor instances elsewhere. There is a layer of surface dirt and surface matter and accretions to the work.

There is a further work by the Artist to the reverse. Here, there is a small instance of loss to the centre of the upper edge and towards the lower left corner, as well as more minor instances elsewhere. There is flattening to some impasto tips. There is a very light scuff to the path. There is a light layer of dust, dirt and studio detritus to the work. This excepting, the work appears in good overall condition.

Inspection under Ultraviolet light reveals minor fluorescence and retouching to A Red, Red Rose, and none to Landscape (verso).

The work is presented in a wooden frame.
