Late 18th/Early 19th Century
Mahogany veneer case with ebonized wood banding, oval inlay at top and conch shell inlay at front, and brass bail handles at sides. Includes two sets of three matching period gilt-decorated bottles and two cordial glasses.
Case height 8”. Width 9.75”. Depth 6.75”.
Provenance:
The Estate of Paul and Diane Madden, Sandwich, Massachusetts.
Condition Report: Not all bottles are matching, although there are all the same size. One bottle with a hairline, one bottle with a chip to its lip. All bottles with loss to the gilt decoration. Cordial glasses with flakes. Slight lifting to veneer of caddy. The absence of a condition report does not imply an object is free of defects. All items may have normal signs of age and wear commensurate with theirage; these issues will likely not be mentioned in the condition report.
