ENGLISH CREWEL-WORK EMBROIDERED BED VALANCE, wool on linen, elongated panel with shaped lower edge, featuring alternating flower pattern, top edge with swag and acorn border. Housed in a modern frame, attached to a linen panel support. 18th century. 79 1/2" x 10" OA object, 82 3/4" x 13 1/4" OA.
Good as-is condition with scattered losses to thread and linen, thread with some fading/fugitive color, both ends with likely later-added stitching, scattered mends and repairs, frame with some wear, scattered flakes and chips to molding.
