ENGLISH STERLING SILVER AND OTHER ARTICLES, LOT OF SIX, comprising four English sterling silver articles consisting of a pair of sugar tongs with "I [pellet] B" maker's mark, possibly for James Barratt of London, having pierced handles and engraved "M*F" initials to end, a pair of sugar tongs with "WP" maker's mark, possibly for William Parker of London or William Pugh of Birmingham, having engraved decoration to handles, an open salt by John Edwards II of London with 1850 date mark, and a horn spoon with thistle figural sterling tip by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd of Chester with likely 1907 or 1911 date mark; an unmarked and unidentified silver chatelaine clip with engraved decoration and "SS" initials; and a silver-toned nib pen with carved bone letter opener handle and partial decoration, likely souvenir and possibly for Jerusalem. English pieces each with maker's mark and a lion passant hallmark for sterling fineness, open salt and spoon also with two or three other hallmarks including a city mark, a date mark, and/or a Queen Victoria duty mark, remainder unmarked, chatelaine clip of unknown silver fineness/metal content. Total weight of sugar tongs and open salt: 4.255 ozt. 19th and early 20th century. Open salt 1 1/2" H, 2 1/4" D rim.
Condition Report: Mostly in good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including bending, nicks, denting, etc.; tongs each with one or a few repairs.
