ENGRAVED CONTEMPORARY REPUBLICAN POLITICAL SATIRE

This unique engraved powder horn measures about 12" overall and has a curved and tapered body. The edge of the spout is scalloped and there is a series of relief rings on the section above the main body. The body is engraved with Obama Administration era personalities dressed in 18th century attire and labelled with names. Engraved depictions include Barack and Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, Sir William Clinton (holding a cigar, of course), Lady Clinton, George W. Bush, and four rodents labelled "Nancy Pelosi", "Barney Frank", "Chris Dodd" and "Harry Reid", all surrounding an 18th century structure labelled "Fannie Mae/ Freddy Mac". There is also a depiction of an elderly gentleman with a cane labelled "American Taxpayer". Towards the plug is the date "08". The wooden plug is slightly convex and has an iron staple for strap attachment. CONDITION: Excellent and well-aged using artificial patinas. A very interesting piece of contemporary political folk art. Condition: Dimensions: Length: 12".
