ENGRAVED S&W .38 SAFETY HAMMERLESS REVOLVER

SERIAL 63661. BARREL 3 1/4". CALIBER .38 SMITH & WESSON. MADE 1890-1898. This is a 3rd model. This example is only 46 numbers off from number 63615 which is an almost identical gun , same engraver, same pattern almost a twin with exception that this gone does not have gold washed cylinder. Both were made in 1891. The nearly full coverage engraving is A grade, most likely Gustove Young and there is a nearly identical style as seen on page 60, gun second down from top on left. Standard features are a five shot, double action, nickel plated, American scroll engraving, pearl grips, blue trigger guard and case color trigger. Double action indexes and locks up tight. Bore is sharp. Grips are excellent. Trigger guard has 75% original dulling blue. Strong case colors on trigger. Comes with period saddle leather tooled pocket holster. Wonderful deluxe engraved gun. A
