EPCOT/Television Commercial Captain Hook Animation Drawing Sequence of 7 (Walt Disney, c. 1990s-2000s). This lot will surely have you singing "Yo-ho, yo-ho!" Offered here is a stunning and rare sequence of 7 original animation drawings believed to be from a lost EPCOT Center television commercial featuring dastardly buccaneer, Captain Hook. A fan-favorite member of the Disney Villains pantheon, Hook is captain of the Jolly Roger and principal adversary to all who refuse to grown up. Since his debut in Peter Pan (1953), Captain Hook has made a multitude of appearances in a varied assortment of Disney properties including returning as the main antagonist in the direct sequel film Return to Never Land (2002) and the television series Jake and the Never Land Pirates (2011-16), as well as regular cameos throughout the Toon Disney series House of Mouse (2001-2003). These delightfully emotive drawings depict a wide range of emotions for the pirate Captain, possibly of him considering the joys of visiting a Disney Park like EPCOT. The lot includes 1 rough rendered loosely in brown pencil and 6 cleanups rendered in graphite and blue pencil, each on 12 field animation paper with sequence numbers in each of the righthand corners. With waist-up figures, Hook ranges in size from 4.75" x 8" to 6.75" x 9" across the 7 drawings. With typical studio handling and edge wear including trimmed/reattached pegholes on the rough drawing, peghole reinforcement on the cleanups, and superficial surface wrinkles, overall this swashbuckling sequence is in Very Good condition.
