[ translate ]

Timpani and napkin ring of the great luxury goldsmith ERCUIS in its original casket. The timpani has 3 marks plus the signature ERCUIS and the napkin ring has 2 marks. I don't know if they're silver or silver metal. In 1867, the young parish priest of Ercuis, Father Adrien Celestial Pillon5, created a religious goldsmith's and silversmith's shop decorated with enamels overlaid, silvered and gilded by electrolysis. In Ercuis, he created a workers' city where the labour force was pouring in. To finance these investments, he launches a newspaper which also proves to be an excellent advertising medium. But very quickly the religious authorities dismissed him. The company quickly expanded by rotating towards tableware and silverware, opening its first shop in Paris in 1880, then expanding in the provinces and abroad. In 1888 she rented a vast building on rue Boulanger in Paris in the 10th district, then moved next door to the Ministry of the Navy on rue Royale, where she is still based today. The manufacturer, Georges Maës, signed an agreement in 1886 with the goldsmith Ercuis for which he produced using the hallmark of his Clichy crystal factory with a centaur which became the symbol of the fashion brand. At the end of the 19th century, the new managers of the Ercuis goldsmith's workshop, the Maës family, who owned the company for three generations, increased production capacity and took part in the great Universal Exhibitions of 1889 and 1907. Dimensions: timpani 7. 5 cm height by 6. 5 cm diameter. napkin ring 3 cm height by 4. 5 cm diameter. weight of the set 145 gr. and with casket 330 gr. The photos are an integral part of the description. Careful and insured Colissimo shipping.
