ERNST UDET PRESENTATION WATERMAN MECHANICAL PENCIL
A quality Waterman gold (or gold plated) mechanical pencil gifted by Ernst Udet to an unknown friend as a souvenir of an important date. The 4.75 in. pen bears a finely ribbed octagonal barrel and tapered steel tip, with Waterman logo top which still operates, lowering a graphite lead as needed. The barrel of the pen is engraved: "Zur Errinnerung 10.3.38 Udet", with Udet's name appearing as his signature in facsimile. Hallmark appears on the pocket clip, of which we can only discern "760". We are not able to determine the significance of the date, although it may have had something to do with his development of the Ju87 "Stuka". A great relic.
