Erwin Blumenfeld was a German photographer and artist born in 1891. He is best known for fashion photography published in magazines such as Vogue and Harper's Bazaar throughout the 1940's and 1950's. In addition to fashion photography, his body of artwork also includes celebrity portraiture, fine-art photography, drawings, and collages. Blumenfield worked internationally in Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the United States, and is considered "one of the most innovative and influential photographers of the 20th century."
