This work comes with a copy of Hurley's 1939 paperback book, Old Mills and Covered Bridges In and About Cincinnati. The etching is dedicated in the margin "To Mr. & Mrs. A.G. Shumate, Jr." Hurley spent time with the Shumates in 1935 at their farm in Western Virginia. The book is likewise dedicated inside "To Mr. & Mrs A.G. Shumate Jr with all goo wishes, and a souvenir of a wondereous trip through the Virginia mountains. E.T. Hurley." [sic]
