EVA BRAUN FOUR-PIECE BEAUTY SET

[ translate ]

Rarely encountered four-piece "beauty set" once owned and used by EVA BRAUN (1912-1945), an office assistant and model who became the longtime companion of Adolf Hitler and, for less than 40 hours, his wife. Each piece in the set of four accessories bears a very finely-accomplished "E B" monogram, the well-known "butterfly" monogram designed for Braun by her close friend, Albert Speer. The monograms are of course all matching and show a very high level of detail. The matching set includes: mirror, 11 in. long and 6 in. wide; hair brush, 9.25 in. long, 3.25 in. wide; clothes brush, 7 in. long, 2.25 in. wide; and comb, 7.5 in long, 1.5 in. wide. The comb and brush backing, as well as the bristles, appear to be of celluloid as was common at the time. The elaborate frames are stamped with matching hallmarks and "835" purity stamps. At one point, the bristle backing for the hair brush separated, allowing the clay weighting within to fall out, but is in hand, otherwise the set, likely gifted to Braun, is in excellent condition. From a thirty year collection of "personality" material, this grouping was a direct "bring back". Having offered a great deal Braun material over the decades, we are confident in the authenticity of this grouping.
