Cullinan's Home, 1905-1919, Impression of 1603 Rusk, Houston," 1948, gouache on artist cardboard, signed in monogram and dated L/R, "ES 48," verso in pencil titled, placed, signed, and dated; the work showing the Houston Downtown Skyline. 8 1/2" x 9 1/2" Note: An asteroid named after the artist listed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory California Institute of Technology: 171465 Evamaria (6847 P-L), Classification: Outer Main-belt Asteroid, SPK-ID: 2171465. Asteroid 171465 Evamaria was discovered 1960 Sept. 24 by C. J. van Houten and I. van Houten-Groeneveld on Palomar Schmidt, plates taken by T. Gehrels. Eva Maria Schubart (1919-2008) was a teacher of languages in the southern U.S. She retired to Kaufungen, Germany, and liked to paint and teach painting in Adult Education programs in her senior years. The name was suggested by her second cousin, J. Schubart.
