Condition
This work is in very good condition. The canvas is slightly slack and there is a light layer of surface dirt throughout. There is evidence of some light frame rubbing to the corners and in places to the turning edges. There are a few spots of tension craquelure in places to the turning edges. There are a small number of tiny paint drops in the upper left quadrant, these appear to be original and in keeping with the artist's choice of media and method of execution. There is a horizontal short rub mark with associated pinprick losses in the lower right quadrant, this is visible in the catalogue illustration. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no signs of inpainting.
