EXTRAORDINARY EARLY COVERED GLASS POKAL OF WHALING

19th c. or Earlier Clear Blown Glass Lidded Vase or Goblet, the surface hand engraved with a scene depicting a three-mast whaling ship with long boats filled with whalers surrounding a spouting whale, with slightly flared body, long stem, and round inverted saucer form foot, engraved lid, unpolished pontil on the base, a phenomenal piece that may have been made for a whaling captain, 15" high, 6 1/4" diam. Good condition.
