14 kt., of rectangular form with alternating bands of abalone and blue, green and purple enamel beneath articulated textured silver panels applied with gold geometric motifs, signed Pardon, no. 735.

Earl Pardon (1926-1991), a pioneer of the studio craft movement, was a trained fine artist having graduated with a degree in painting from the Memphis Academy of Arts in 1951 and later with his M.F.A degree from Syracuse University in 1959. Known for his textural collages in silver, gold and swatch-like flat, colorful segments, his painting and sculpture remained an obvious influence throughout his career. His work is in the permanent collections of Smithsonian Institution and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
