Chenille type flower basket embroidery. Framed in an old, gilded, gesso frame with rippled, old glass. Glued (we believe, though not inspected out of the frame) to wood backing, around the outer edges. The embroidery is worked in chenille wool and metallic thread in a variety of stitches, on a silk ground. Colours greens, cream, red, yellow, gold and brown. Picture depicts a large basket of flowers. Signed with initials 'MR' (Possibly) to front of basket.

Chenille type flower basket embroidery. Framed in an old, gilded, gesso frame with rippled, old glass. Glued (we believe, though not inspected out of the frame) to wood backing, around the outer edges. The embroidery is worked in chenille wool and metallic thread in a variety of stitches, on a silk ground. Colours greens, cream, red, yellow, gold and brown. Condition Report:
Generally Good. A few small holes and a split to the ground. No stains. No stitch losses. Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run. Neatly stretched but with some rippling to the ground. Frame showing wear and chips, but structurally sound.
