East Asia, China, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A slender cigarette holder that is hand-carved from jadeite of mottled green and white hues. The cylindrical body has a circular opening meant to hold a cigarette, and the tapered neck terminates in a discoid mouthpiece. Smooth, polished surfaces make this an attractive piece. Size: 3.6" L x 0.6" W (9.1 cm x 1.5 cm)
Provenance: private Los Angeles County, California, USA collection, acquired by descent from the owner's father, collection amassed between 1950-1990
