Early American Folk Art Cloth Witch Doll.
This 16" (41cm) cloth doll, (height not including the hat), with muslin type stuffed head and totally drawn on facial features including an open mouth with separated teeth, V shaped nose and one eye wider than the other. Doll has a slender similar type torso, and cotton stuffed lower torso below flared sewn on skirt, with a slightly more golden colored apron and a black pointed cloth hat sewn to the head. The shawl which ties around in the front is of similar material to that of the hat, and the hair is an assortment of loose curled gold silk ribbons. Age and maker are unknown, and as with most folk art, the value is most in the eye of the beholder, as there is no fixed or comparable commercial price. Condition: (Excellent). Dimensions: 19'' T.
