Early Heavy Filipino Betel Nut Box, Silver Inlay
Beautiful hand hammered betel nut box from the Philippines, 19th century with intricate silver inlay throughout. Flower bursts to each face are carefully hammered into brass and copper box. When the lid opens it reveals separated compartments to hold the nuts, with a main central compartment and two smaller side compartments. The lids are beautifully and intricately inlayed with silver and copper inlays, almost depicting an owl-like shape. Size 5 5/8" L x 2 3/4" H
