Early Meisselbach Take-Apart Casting Reel

A 4:1 ratio hard rubber and German silver casting reel with the patented automatic click, screw off ring holding the head plate in place and screw on counter balanced handle. One of the most difficult Meisselbach reels to find, in Ex- condition, due mainly to a small section of missing hard rubber from the tail plate, now revealing the sliding click mechanism that is located on the tail plate rim. Otherwise the hard rubber is free from cracks, scratches or chips, and the foot is full length and unaltered. Measures 2 1/4" in diameter with a 1 1/2" wide spool, that if not for the missing rubber piece would be impossible to upgrade. This is returning to Lang's after originally selling in spring 2018 as part of the Steve Scarborough collection.
