Early Native American Tesuque Pottery Olla

Native American, Southwest United States, New Mexico, Pueblo Indians, Tesuque peoples, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A fabulous pottery jar featuring a bulbous body with a broad hip, a sloped shoulder, an attenuated neck, and a flared rim, all sitting upon a round yet stable base. The vessel has been formed from red clay with shimmering inclusions of mica and areas of fire-darkening that add some lovely variegation to the otherwise minimalist piece. Size: 8.9" Diameter x 6.3" H (22.6 cm x 16 cm)
