Early Nichol Turned Head Bluebill Hen Hollow Decoy

Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada. 4" x 12.25" x 5.25". 1st Quarter 20th Century. Painted wood. Original paint with moderate gunning wear with the exception of gunning touch up to the white at base of the decoy on both sides. Bill has been repainted. Structurally good with light gunning wear. Small 3/4" cut at top of head. Extremely light hollow body construction. Raised wings with no feather carving or stamping. 25 degree turned head. From The Burchell Collection.
