Parisiis: Simonis Colinaei, 1533. Second edition thus (second Simon de Colines edition). Folio, 11 7/8 x 8 1/8 in. (302 x 206 mm). ff. (36), 101, (10), 42, 53, (3), 13. From the library of American classicist and historian of ancient philosophy, Harold Cherniss (1904-87), with his signature on front paste-down, as well as from the library of Czech physicist George Placzek (1905-55), as indicated by an inscription by Cherniss on front free endpaper: "Harold Cherniss/1952 from the library of George Placzek", as well as from the library of Allan Gotthelf on front paste-down. Illustrated with woodcut vignette title-page as well as woodcut initials throughout volume. Contemporary full vellum, stamped in blind, front board starting, boards soiled; all edges trimmed; front free endpaper creased and repaired along gutter, top corner of front free endpaper repaired, old cataloguer's notes on same; title-page somewhat darkened with scattered edge-wear; scattered, mostly minor, worming to text (most prevalent at rear); final text leaf repaired along top edge and at bottom corner; rear free endpaper creased and repaired; worming in rear paste-down.

Reprint of the 1524 edition of Aristotle's three main treatises on biology, featuring translations by Greek humanist Theodorus Gaza (1398-1475), as well as Italian humanist Pietro Alcionis (1487-1527).
