Early medieval paper rare Coptic bible leaf from a lectionary Translated! - 29×18×0 cm

A very decorative leaf from a lectionary, a liturgical manual with daily changing Bible readings in Bohairian Coptic, the liturgical language of the Coptic Church. The side with the English annotation is definitely the recto (the front) . The texts on your sheet are: the conclusion of the reading from the Catholic epistles, in this case a famous passage from the first letter of John (preserved is 1 Jn. 2: 13-16) , and on the reverse - after a rubric (in red) - the beginning of the reading from the Acts of the Apostles (7: 35-36, incomplete) . According to the annotation, the leaf comes from the Monastery of Saint Martyr Theodore the Warrior, just west of Medinet Habu. From the collection of Prof. Niestrasz, then collection antiquarian bookshop Esser. For the condition of the sheet, see the photos.
