Artist . Unknown Italian School early to mid IX century . Title : A portrait of a noble Italian lady within a drawing room. Oil on metal Dimensions overall including the original gilt frame 49 cm x 42 cm x 6 cm The painting size showing is 34 cm x 26. 8 cm . A rather nice example of an early oil on metal portrait of an Italian noble lady in her period attire sat within her drawing room. In the background there is an Italianate landscape and also a lot of detail within the composition. There are nice colours and tonality to the paitning which is in nice condition ( see report) given it's antiquity. Condition report. The painting is in good condition for it's age. there are a few microscopic paint losses and microscopic paint re-touches which are unnoticeable to the naked-eye and certainly at normal viewing distance. The colours have retained some vibrancy and the plate is in good overall condition without any distortion. The lovely original 19th C gilt frame is in good condition with patina and wear commensurate with it's antiquity. The frame is offered as a gift as we cannot insure antique frames for shipping.
