East African Style Soapstone Sculptures of Figures
A pair of East African style soapstone carvings. The first, carved from a dark green stone with flecks of brown, depicts a large, sweeping figure holding the hands of two smaller figures that hang below. The second, carved in a light gray and red-brown speckled stone, depicts two stylized figures holding hands above their heads, bent sideways to outline an oval center space. Both are unsigned. Please note, this is an item that may be especially difficult to move and/or transport.
