Eastern Orthodox Carved and Painted Icon, Probably

Eastern Orthodox Carved and Painted Icon, Probably Byzantine. Carved shaped cruciform icon, with two light iron bands to support the structure to the back. The face painted with six ovular scenes of Christ's miracles, below Christ surrounded by the Archangels; all below Christ enshrined in heaven. All within red-rimmed, thick gilt bands. {Approximate dimensions: 10" x 15 3/4".}. Condition: Losses to very lower right corner; divots; flaking of paint; The wood is warped; 3" split, left top of rectangular section. The wood appears to have been gessoed or prepared in some way, with that substrate lightly buckling near the top, left. Several small nail holes.
