"Go, Dog. Go!" written and illustrated by P.D. Eastman, published by Beginner Books A Division of Random House, Copyright 1961, later 1970s printing with isbn#, but without barcode on the back cover. Stated "Grolier Book Club Edition." The "Beginner Books. I Can Read It All By Myself" with the Cat in the Hat logo was a book club for the early readers founded in 1958 by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel).

Illustrated and laminated hard boards [some wear]; 6.1/4" x 8.3/4"; illustrated endpapers, "Kurstin" is written inside front cover, unpaginated, c.64 pages, fully illustrated, some wear, very good condition.

Eastman describes the actions and interactions of a group of highly mobile dogs, who operate cars and other conveyances in pursuit of work, play, and a final mysterious goal: a dog party.

The book introduces concepts such as color and relative position with simple language and humor. ("The blue dog is in. The red dog is out.") The book helps children learn basic concepts and actions like playing, working, going up, going down. The book also teaches children colors and conveys emotions.

Philip Dey Eastman (1909-1986) was an American screenwriter, children's author, and illustrator. Eastman, a protege and colleague of Theodor Geisel (pen name Dr. Seuss), wrote many books for children in his own distinct style. He worked with the Dr. Seuss brand of Random House, many of which were in the Beginner Books series.
