Echinoderm - Amazing death assemblage plate- 24 Specimens-Double sided - Ascocystites drabowensis

This alien-looking fossil is a plate of very detailed Eocrinoids of the genus Ascocystites collected near Kaid Errami, Morocco. This plate is double sided and presents 24 specimens, 12 on front side and 12 on back side. The bright yellow-orange colour due the oxidation of iron pyrite is very beautiful and showy, it sets off the pink colour of the matrix quite well. The largest specimen on the plate is almost 7. 5 cm in length. An interesting aspect: all the specimens of the front side are oriented in the same direction, indicating a sea stream at the time of death. Plate is 22 x 12 x 2. 4 cm. A stunning piece of ancient ‘life’, 450 million years old.
