Romantic movement, late 18th (1793) “Scène lacustre à l'étang” - Dry pastel Description: The scene is transcended by pastel hues, the range of colors used by the artist is extended, ranging from sky blue to pale pink or mauve, with soft greens and creamy yellows. The work is highlighted in a superb wood and fluted gold stucco frame, under glass. It depicts an animated scene of characters and beasts near a pond, lit with a soft light.
