For your consideration is a lovely traditional raku ceramic titled Small Sphere by master ceramist Ed Risak. Dimensions: 8h x 9.5 dia. In excellent condition. Ed Risak (1950-2017) is known for raku-fired vessels that combined wheel thrown components and hand-built slab components. Surface techniques included raku variations and a sprayed-on metallic matte glaze. Risak's work is known for the iridescent colors created with this sprayed-on metallic matte glaze. Risak collaborated with his wife, Julie Risak, to make the work. Risak is in the public collection of the Flint Institute of Arts and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
