Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan the Magnificent First Edition Hardcover (Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., 1939)....
Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan the Magnificent First Edition Hardcover (Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., 1939). Two pulp adventures became one Tarzan novel here, as Burroughs combined "Tarzan and the Magic Men" and "Tarzan and the Elephant Men" for their first appearance together in book form. The first edition was limited to just 3,500 copies, and this one retains its original dust jacket. John Coleman Burroughs supplied both the jacket artwork and five black-and-white interior plates, including the frontispiece. The volume is bound in blue cloth and states "First Edition" on the copyright page. With its unusual publishing history and remarkably well-preserved jacket, this is an appealing later Tarzan first. The original dust jacket is in Near Fine condition, while the book is in Very Good condition. From the Robert “Bob” Barrett Collection.
