He was the son of Edouard Sandoz , the founder of the chemical and then pharmaceutical company Sandoz, now Novartis.He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris with Antonin Mercio and Jean-Antoine Injalbert .He founded the French animal society in 1933 . His commitment to the service of his fellow artists led him to preside for nearly twenty years the Taylor Foundation , created by Isidore Justin S Taylor . He created the Work of the Children of Artists and participated in the creation of the City of Arts in Paris .Sandoz was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts of the Institut de France . he was awarded the Legion of Honor
